QCRC Trail Race Series
Bring On The Trails!
We at Queen City Running wanted to create something a little more challenging than the typical road runs we put on, so we put together a series of races throughout the diverse trails of Marquette, Houghton, and Iron Mountain, to let our trail runners show their stuff. Not a trail runner? If you can run and enjoy being on the trails at whatever speed suits you, you sure are!
Who: Anybody who wants to get outside and either learn some new trails or run on familiar ground can join. Run, walk, a little bit of both? All are welcome to join! Each race will be flagged to make sure you don’t have to know the trails to go enjoy them. The cost to join is free, however each region’s trail system asks for donations for use of the trail or joining their membership.
What: Runners will line up at the trailhead each month to take on a variety of terrain. The first person who crosses the finish line will get 15 points toward the race series, and each person thereafter will get a little less depending on how much longer they took. Details on this scoring breakdown are below.
Each race you will accumulate more points, and the top 7 runners from each region will battle it out at the team championships in October, with all other participants running the course shortly thereafter.
When: Each race will begin at 6pm local time on the following dates: May 28, June 18, July 9, August 6, September 17, and the championship will be in Marquette only on October 10.
Where: The races will take place in the area near our three stores in Marquette, Houghton, and Iron Mountain. The trailheads for each region’s races will be listed below!
Why: Cause we like getting out in nature. Whether you want to take this seriously and race it or just want to have fun getting out there with like minded people, we want to see you out there!

Join Us This Summer
This summer we are going to be hosting one race each month from May until September in each of our stores’ locations (Marquette, Houghton, and Iron Mountain). Participating in each race will get you points, and in October there will be one final race for everybody who has shown up to any of the races, with the top 7 individual point earners from each division racing as a team to see which division has the strongest trail runners!
