QCRC Half Marathon Training Program
Are you thinking about training for a half marathon?
Whether you are new the distance, reaching for a PR, or simply looking for more people to run with, Queen City’s new Half Marathon Training Program is for you!
Join a fabulous group of runners of all ages and all paces as we work hard, laugh, and share miles on our journey to the next 13.1 miles!



What
A coach-led 12 week training program designed for those pursuing the half marathon distance, 13.1 miles.
The goal is to safely build speed, endurance, and running proficiency while also having fun and creating lasting connections.
Who
If you can comfortably run 3 miles then you can train for a half marathon.
This program is designed for all runners looking to run a half marathon distance. You can be training for your fastest race, your first race, or your strongest race. Or if you’re simply seeking more runners to spend time and share some miles with.
This training program is for you!
When
The program will formally meet once a week for 12 weeks with experienced coaches on Tuesdays at 5:45 PM, from May 5th through July 21st.
We encourage all participants to use the Saturday morning Queen City Runs as their Long Run for the week.
Plan to spend an additional 1-2 days beyond your Tuesday Speed and Saturday Long Run for homework runs
Where
Ellwood A Matson Lower Harbor Park. Meet in the large parking lot, we’ll be warming up together and running on the multi-use path.
Goal Race
All participants will receive complimentary registration into the Queen City Half Marathon on July 25th.
Additional Perks
All participants will receive exclusive discounts at Queen City Running Company during the duration of the program.
